The story is told about a businessman who had to travel to a small town for a meeting and invited his wife to come with him. She was excited, because she had always wanted to go with her husband on a business trip, but her excitement turned to fear when she learned that they would be flying in one of those small, Cessna planes. She told her husband, "I’VE DECIDED NOT TO GO…He said, WHY? She said, “I’M NOT FLYING IN ONE OF THOSE TINY PLANES!" Her husband smiled and said, "HONEY, YOUR FAITH IS TOO SMALL." She looked at him and said, "NO, THAT PLANE'S TOO SMALL!" The wife’s trust was small because the plane she was depending on to get her to her destination was small. HER FAITH GREW BECAUSE THE SIZE OF HER TRANSPORTATION GREW! The principle is clear: THE OBJECT OF YOUR FAITH DETERMINES THE SIZE OF YOUR FAITH! In other words, the amount of faith you have in something or someone is determined by your confidence in that person or thing's ability to deliver what it promises!
Can I ask you a question…HOW BIG IS THE GOD GOD YOU TRUST IN?
When you're facing situations and circumstances that seem overwhelming, where do you turn for strength? When life is crashing down around you, where do you turn answers and relief? DAVID TURNED TO GOD...When he was on the run for his life and facing an uncertain future, David declared in Psalm 18:30, "The ways of God are without fault. The Lord’s words are pure. He is a shield to those who trust him." David proclaimed his unwavering faith in God's character, God's Word, and in God's ability to protect him from the enemy's in his life. The old folks in my boyhood church used to say, "God is God all by Himself, and He don't need no help being God!" They were declaring that God is dependable and faithful, and we can trust in His Word.
Beloved, be encouraged today to know that no matter what you're going through, You've got a big God and he's bigger than anything you're going through today. Cast your cares on Him (1 Peter 5:7) and know that, no matter what, in the end YOU WILL WIN!
BE BLESSED IN JESUS!
